Relax and enjoy the Homestay experience as you become part of your host’s family. Walk in the garden or soak in the heated pool or thermal spa. Play tennis or enjoy pre dinner nibbles and conversation with a glass of wine or relax in the lounge with a book and a cup of tea or coffee. Dinner bed and breakfast are included in the Homestay experience.

Bed and breakfast is also provided for those who prefer to dine out at one of the numerous restaurants in Rotorua or experience a traditional Maori hangi and concert. Courtesy transport is available.

The lodge offers double and twin bedroom accommodation in the main house with guest share bathroom. A double studio unit with kitchenette and ensuite and a one bedroom self contained chalet are also available.

Situated in a secure landscaped section adjacent to the Utuhina stream (one of Lake Rotorua’s major tributaries and spawning grounds for Rainbow trout) Kuirau Lodge provides peace and tranquillity and a relaxed atmosphere for guests. The Lodge is only ten minutes walk through Kuirau Thermal Park (from which the Lodge takes its name) to the central business and shopping facilities of Rotorua.

Built in 1984 the Lodge was designed and built by Lockwood homes (an internationally recognised construction company). An all wood home it incorporates interior walls made from native Matai timber which exudes ambience and warmth. This, combined with the thermal central heating and double glazed windows, means a pleasant internal environment is enjoyed year round.
